Looking to pull our Netforwards Data?
Visit our Python Code Examples section to download our Netforwards code sample, the quickest way to start pulling Netforwards data.
The Netforwards API endpoints allow you to access data available in the Cargo platform’s DES Netforwards tool. It provides forward curves for the delivered (DES) value of an LNG cargo at a given DES location, built forward from a FOB loading port.
Historical data is available from 2nd January 2024. Netforwards are published daily at 00:00 GMT.

Get Netforwards Reference Data
/v1.0/lng/cargo/netforwards/reference-data/
This endpoint lists every available Netforwards route, with one row per valid combination of:
- DES location (name and UUID)
- FOB loading port (name and UUID)
FOBNetbackVia- the via point used for the FOB netbackFOBNetbackViaLeg- which netback leg the via point applies to (neaornwe)DESNetforwardVia- the via point used for the voyage from the FOB port to the DES location
A blank via point means the route is direct.
The FOB netback via point only ever applies to one leg of the netback, and which leg depends on the geography of the FOB port. For example, Atlantic basin ports (e.g. Sabine Pass) need a via point to reach NEA, while ports east of Suez (e.g. Ras Laffan) need a via point to reach NWE. FOBNetbackViaLeg tells you which leg the FOBNetbackVia value refers to.
These UUIDs and via points are used as parameters when calling the Netforwards data (see below).
This endpoint takes no parameters. The data can be retrieved in JSON or CSV format.
Get Netforwards
/v1.0/lng/cargo/netforwards/
This endpoint retrieves historical Netforwards forward curves, for each DES location, FOB loading port and route.
Parameters
unit- Required parameter
usd-per-mmbtuoreur-per-mwh- Define which unit the API response provides prices in
price-format- Required parameter
outright,ttf-basis,jkm-basisorhh-basis- Define the price format of the
DESNetforwardvalue. TheFOBPrice,FreightCostandVolumeAdjustmentcomponents are always provided as outright values
fob-netback- Required parameter
max,neaornwe- Define which FOB netback the netforward is built from.
maxuses the higher of the NEA and NWE netbacks for each month, and the region selected is returned in theFOBNetbackRegionfield
des-port-uuid- Optional parameter
- Specify which DES location to retrieve netforwards for using the corresponding UUID from the reference data
fob-port-uuid- Optional parameter
- Specify which FOB loading port to retrieve netforwards for using the corresponding UUID from the reference data
fob-netback-via- Optional parameter
panama,suez,coghormagellan-straits- Filter results by the via point used for the FOB netback. This applies to the leg given in
FOBNetbackViaLegin the reference data - When
fob-netback=neaorfob-netback=nweand the via point applies to the other leg, the via point is not used, and the route is returned as direct (FOBNetbackViais blank)
des-netforward-via- Optional parameter
panama,suez,coghormagellan-straits- Filter results by the via point used for the voyage from the FOB port to the DES location
laden-congestion-daysandballast-congestion-days- Optional parameters, only applicable to routes via Panama
- The number of Panama congestion days to account for in the laden and ballast legs
- Both must be provided together, and the combination must be one of the assessed congestion pairs (
data.staticData.ladenBallastDaysin the Netbacks Reference Data) - Default is
0and0
startandend- Optional parameters
start: the release date you'd like the data to start from (yyyy-mm-dd)end: the release date you'd like the data to stop at (yyyy-mm-dd)- The maximum range between
startandendis 365 days - Cannot be combined with
limit
limit- Optional parameter
- The number of release dates to return, starting from the latest release
- Maximum value is
260
offset- Optional parameter
- Offset for pagination of results
Example URL: /v1.0/lng/cargo/netforwards/?unit=usd-per-mmbtu&price-format=outright&fob-netback=max&des-port-uuid=00319332-b16d-479e-9098-0d19c578a931&start=2026-09-01&end=2026-09-21
Prices are retrieved in JSON and CSV format. Metadata is only available in the JSON format. If no data is available for the requested dates, an empty list is returned.
Pulling every route for a release
To retrieve all Netforwards routes for a single release, leave out the port filters and use limit=1 (or a single-day start and end range). Requests without port filters return a large amount of data per release, so requests covering many releases should filter by des-port-uuid and/or fob-port-uuid. Requests whose response would be too large return an error asking you to narrow the date range or filters.
Unlimited access to historical data is only available to those with a premium subscription - trial users will only have access to 2 weeks worth of data. Get in touch to find out more.
